The trophy awarded to the winner of the Masters tournament (one of snooker's Triple Crown events) was renamed in 2017 in honour of a player who died of cancer in 2006, just five days before his 28th birthday. Paul Hunter won the Masters three times – in 2001, 2002 and 2004.
